New years eve, that magical time of year that everyone has a chance to make a fresh start.
In my kitchen i have this quote that sits in the window, It says " If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it.". I'm a big believer that everything happens for a reason but i also believe you have to go after what truly makes you happy; and really work for it.
For as long as i can remember, having a camera in my hand has been my version of freedom. A way to take a moment of passing time and capture it forever. It doesn't matter what it is your a photographing, there's always a story and a memory to be cherished.
For the past 3 years i have been the wildlife photographer at the Kamo Wildlife Sanctuary. I can't even express how much love and admiration i have for the animals and team we have here. It's home to 27 beautiful big cats including Lions, Tigers, Cheetah and my favorite Leopard. As much as i adore this place, being the office/marketing manager there has been a challenge since it closed to the public. And though we plan to open next year i couldn't put my self through the affliction of waiting another year when its been 2 already. I look forward to one day going back; but for now its the perfect chance to make my fresh start.
So on New years, as i stood with one of my closest friends watching the fireworks i decided my resolution was to take a chance and do what you love. As simple as it sounds its a lot harder to put it into action and take that risk. As a result i took a years sabbatical leave and fully committed myself to starting a photography business.
My girl Macie turned 6 months old recently. Shes a cheeky German Shepherd pup who's attitude often reminds me of myself. Though i specialize in all animal photography, it's Macie who inspired me to find a way to turn my passion into something i can do every single day; and so Pet Prints Photography was created.
Love Georgie
